Islip Airport also known as Macarthur Airport (ISP) is a very convenient Airport for tourist who is coming to Long Island Or New York City. First reason is affordable plane Tickets by South West Airlines which you can save twenty five percent . Also less crowded, easier and quickest airport in New York. You have many Ground Transportation options available from Islip airport. First option is you can take train (LIRR)Long Island Rail Road to New York City or to East of Long Island where the Hamptons located. Second option is you can hire limousine,car service but you have to make reservation in advance. I used one of the limousine Service www.asmlimousine.com from Islip Airport to New york City. It was 138 dollar all inclusive for a lincoln town car. or you can take a taxi at the airport which i don't advise Taxi Driver could be really tricky. They could say each person extra 5 dollar or more two lagguage will be axtra 10 dollar, plus tolls and tips. you could end up paying a fortune. Other option is you can rent a car in the Islip Airport to any direction but don't forget if you come to Manhattan by rental car. you will get traffic tickets why there is no street parking available, only you can park your car in parking lots. their fare starts at 16.50 dolar for half hour plus tax.
