The B.Sc in Emergency and Trauma Care Technology is a UGC Specified Degree course.
For the first time in India, a 4 (3 +1) year Degree course leading to B.Sc. Emergency and Trauma Care Technology has been introduced.
Emergency and Trauma Care Technologists (paramedics) are members of the emergency medical care team who use their knowledge and skills to provide basic and advanced life support to seriously ill or injured patients before these patients reach the hospital (pre hospital) and in hospital also.
The programme is designed to ensure that the students are provided with the basis for the knowledge and skill development pertaining to I. Pre hospital emergency care II. In hospital emergency care and III. Critical Care With this as an objective, students will be exposed to the following topics in their tenure of 3 years followed by 1 year internship.
The four years undergraduate programme focuses on creating leader in the field of Emergency Care. Students can join organizations as a emergency care provider in both public and private such as I. Emergency departments II. Hospital inpatient units III. Ambulance service providers IV. Doctor’s offices V. Oil rigs VI. Steel plants VII. Other industrial setups VIII. Paramedic instructors IX. Wide ranges of opportunities are there both nationally and internationally.
Every candidate desiring to join the B.Sc (Emergency and Trauma Care Technology) Degree course should have passed the HSC/CBSE/ISC or other equivalent examination with any one of the subjects combinations given below: Physics, Chemistry, Biology and any other subject; or Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology.
6 semesters (3 years) + 1 year compulsory rotatory internship. Evaluation and Certification 6 semester exams, Evaluated by panel of Doctors involving Emergency physicians, Anaesthesiologists, Cardiologists etc. On completion of the 4 years full time certificate post graduate program, the students would also be certified as: Advanced Cardiac Life Support provider (ACLS) International Trauma Life Support provider (ITLS) Pediatric Advanced Life Support provider (PALS) Basic Life Support provider (BLS) Certified by concerened University.
